We had nearly 100,000 residents practice their earthquake mindset locally, and over 10 million across the state.
If you weren't able to this morning, no worries - you can still participate any day of the month. Just log on to the California Shakeout site to register, schedule your drill, and gain some peace of mind knowing that you, your family/school/workplace/etc and more prepared to survive and recover quickly from an earthquake.
Even if you can't register, there is never any harm in practicing - all it takes is 30 seconds. In fact, maybe a spontaneous drill at home or work would be better, since earthquakes are unexpected and come without warning.
